About Dr. Thomson

david_thomson_chiropractor1.jpg Dr. David B. Thomson started practicing chiropractic medicine in 1989. His approach to patient care is very unique and different even compared to other chiropractic practices. He owns a multi-disciplinary chiropractic center with a holistic approach to wellness. His Kaysville office incorporates healing services such as massage therapy, acupuncture, nutritional and lifestyle counseling in order to get the best possible result.

He has been a chiropractor for over 20 years.  He started his career in California where he interned from 1988 to 1991. In September 1991 Dr. Thomson moved his family back to Utah where he practiced at Davis County Chiropractic in Centerville Utah. In 1996 he opened Intermountain Chiropractic Center, in Bountiful, Utah.

It was at this point he began teaching at the Utah College of Massage Therapy. It is said that if you desire to truly learn something then teach it. That is certainly true of Dr. Thomson. Using the in-depth knowledge and experience he gained during his ten years as an instructor at UCMT, Intermountain Chiropractic quickly grew and became one of the largest offices in Utah. In 2007 after recovering from an 18 foot fall in which he suffered a broken back and foot he sold the office and moved to Kaysville, Utah where he currently resides.

In addition to holding a B.S. in Human Biology he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College. Dr. Thomson is also extensively trained in Clinical Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Nutrition, and Preventive Medicine. He uses several chiropractic techniques to treat patients including Total Body Modification, Pettibon, Bio Kinetics; Thompson, Palmer and Merick; as well as light force and low force adjustments using an Activator and Athrostim. He specializes in the treatment of myofascial pain syndromes: specifically fibromyalgia, auto accident injuries, chronic and acute low back pain, disc injuries, ruptured disc’s, herniated disc’s, neck pain, cervical pain, headaches and migraines.

A love of learning has kept Dr. Thomson continually educating himself about new treatments, modalities, and equipment. Dr. Thomson is licensed in California and Utah. He has served on the California State Board of Examiners and the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Board. When he's not working, he enjoys Skiing, Racquetball, Sailing, Scuba Diving and Gardening.
